Please congratulate the recipients of the 2024 ADUE Staff Awards!
- Charlie Michaels (C-SED Director of Experiential Learning)
- Paty Jaimes (CRLT-Engin Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
The ADUE Staff Awards recognize efforts which have significantly advanced one or more of the following four ADUE goal areas: 1) Preeminent Engineering Education; 2) Experiential Learning; 3) Academic Innovation; and 4) Academic Opportunities For All.
Here is just of sampling to what was shared with their nominations:
Charlie Michaels: Charlie Michaels has been instrumental in advancing Preeminent Engineering Education at Michigan Engineering. His coauthoring of the socially engaged design model, now integrated into Engineering 110, ME 450, and many sections of Engin 100, has marked a significant contribution to the curriculum and a novel approach to including contextual factors in engineering design. This innovative approach is not only learned by almost all undergraduates at Michigan Engineering but has also gained recognition at half a dozen universities across the U.S. and Europe. Through his efforts, Charlie has ensured that our students benefit from an educational experience that aligns with the finest globally, fulfilling the first ADUE goal area.
Paty Jaimes: Patricia (Paty) Jaimes has embodied the goals for office of the ADUE through her role as an assistant director for DEI at CRLT-Engin. Paty has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and quality in her work, particularly in three key areas: Preeminent Engineering Education, Academic Innovation, and Academic Opportunities for All.
